Eleazar Leslie (E.L.) Sajogo graduated from the University of Surabaya and joined MS&A in 1998. He started to pursue his career under the mentorship of his life-long coach, Markus Sajogo. He acquired admittance to the bar on April, 2000 as the youngest lawyer in East Java having passed to the bar at that moment and later became the Managing Partner of the firm in 2008.
Having more than 20 years of legal experience under his portfolio, his practice primarily involves a broad range of domestic and international dispute settlement and business transaction cases. His work focuses in corporate and commercial matters such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, intellectual property rights, and ADR cases as well as international arbitration. During his years of practice, he has been engaged by clients not only for legal matters in Indonesia but also across the Asia Pacific region such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam, Australia and has been trusted as counsel for major national and international corporations. He was inaugurated as a Certified Liquidator of Indonesia (CLI), working together with the firm’s legal audit team to complement the firm’s services in corporate related matters. Extending his corporate reach, E.L. Sajogo is also recognized by the Capital Market Legal Consultant Association (HKHPM) as a Capital Market lawyer to handle capital market matters at the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK).
Upon his certification as IP Consultant from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia and the University of Airlangga in 2011, he created Sajogo Marks as the firm’s intellectual property rights centre, handling IP related matters, specifically on protection, dispute settlement, and worldwide IP registration for its domestic and international clients.
For his focus in Alternative Dispute Resolution, he has completed the post-graduate diploma course in International Arbitration in 2013 from the University of New South Wales and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has been granted the status of “Member” by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London and registered as a Member in the Chartered Institute’s East Asia Branch (EAB). Additionally, he is a certified Mediator accredited by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia and listed in Supreme Court's list of registered mediators, where he serves as a certified trainer of Indonesian Mediators acknowledged by the Supreme Court. His expertise in IP and alternative dispute settlement is also recognized by PANDI (Indonesia Internet Domain Name Administrator) where he now serves as a Panelist (arbitrator) in PPND (Domain Name Dispute Resolution Panel), Indonesia’s official institution in Indonesia for the settlement of domain name (.co.id and .id) dispute cases.
